About the position

This National Guard position is for an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D0097000 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing, National Guard. As an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC WG-8268-10, you will be utilizing electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics and technical publications, determines extent and type of preventative and/or repair maintenance required. Performs organizational and intermediate maintenance in confined spaces on aircraft fuel systems, components, and equipment to include fuel cells, integral tanks, tank sealant repair, regulators, pumps, relief valves and fuel accessories. Also performs required maintenance activities associated with time compliance technical orders (TCTO) involving aircraft fuel systems, inflight refueling systems and related components. Connects power sources, and using cockpit controls, gauges and additional precision instruments, performs operational and functional checks of inflight refueling, single point refueling and fuel transfer systems and related valves, pumps, switches, selectors, and control devices. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and technical publications to determine maintenance requirements.
  • Perform organizational and intermediate maintenance on aircraft fuel systems and components.
  • Conduct maintenance activities associated with time compliance technical orders (TCTO).
  • Connect power sources and perform operational and functional checks of inflight refueling systems.
  • Work on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule.

Requirements

  • KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance within one year of appointment.
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in fabricating fuel, oil, and vacuum hose lines.
  • Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling, assembling, repairing, and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories.
