About The Position

The Aircraft Pilot, Senior is a permanent, full-time position with the Alabama Department of Transportation. All positions are currently based in Montgomery. This is advanced technical work in piloting piston and turbine-powered multi-engine aircraft used in connection with executive passenger transport or other missions of the State.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a pilot, preferably in a senior role
• Commercial pilot's license with multi-engine rating
• Instrument rating and type rating for the specific aircraft used
• Ability to pass a medical examination and obtain a valid medical certificate
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Pilot multi-engine aircraft, including piston and turbine-powered aircraft
• Conduct executive passenger transport and other missions as assigned
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of aircraft
• Maintain accurate records of flight hours, maintenance, and other relevant data
• Collaborate with other departments and agencies as necessary
• Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and procedures
