Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school or Associate's degree).
  • Minimum 1 year of painting experience in aircraft, automotive, marine, or industrial environments.
  • Minimum 3 years of total paint experience, including multi-stage applications using compressed air systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience working at heights with fall protection gear; must complete and maintain Fall Protection Certification (OSHA 1926, 191066, 1910 Subpart D).
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, handle hazardous materials, and pass mandatory training (continued employment contingent on training completion).
  • Must be able to work any assigned shift, including overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of aerospace paint experience, including Boeing aircraft.
  • Experience with color matching, surface prep, and application of composite material finishes (carbon fiber, fiberglass, thermosets, thermoplastics).
  • Familiarity with organic chemical processes (priming, coating, cleaning) and polymer/composite material handling.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and paint aircraft exteriors per customer design and livery specifications using prescribed primers, finishes, and multi-stage paint processes (e.g., base coat/clear coat).
  • Verify aircraft readiness for exterior finishing and perform required surface prep including sanding, masking, and cleaning.
  • Create and apply stencils, markings, and patterns using engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Operate painting equipment and work with various materials including adhesives, primers, and sealants.
  • Inspect completed work for quality, finish uniformity, and adherence to specifications.
  • Follow all safety protocols including Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, electrostatic discharge (ESD) controls, and hazardous materials handling.
  • Support production operations by adapting to assigned shifts and attending required training sessions
