About The Position

The Aircraft Mechanic II maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. This role also involves maintaining and repairing various aircraft components including, but not limited to, flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and other mechanical components.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to subject themselves to random drug tests.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance.
  • US Citizenship required for the clearance.
  • High school graduate or have an equivalency certificate from an accredited program.
  • Must possess a valid FAA Mechanic License with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.
  • Must be competent and knowledgeable in the repair and maintenance of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft and aircraft systems to include airframes, structural, hydraulics, fuel and electrical systems, and aircraft engines.
  • Must be competent and knowledgeable in system troubleshooting, reading and interpretation of schematics, blueprints, technical manuals and FAA, Company, and other Directives.
  • Must be reliable and demonstrate good judgment.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in the English language and follow both verbal and written instruction.
  • Ability to comprehend/interpret technical data.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and apply required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation.
  • Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals.
  • Perform daily, flight line and hangar maintenance on all assigned aircraft.
  • Perform inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting and fault isolation on aircraft systems.
  • Furnish own hand tools to perform maintenance of aircraft (necessary special tools and test equipment will be furnished by Customs).
  • May occasionally lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
  • May be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Prioritize workload schedules on assigned projects.
  • Follow base, federal and Company procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.
  • Meet required deadlines and maintain necessary workflow.
