About The Position

The V2X Aircraft Mechanic performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-26 aircraft. Is responsible for servicing, launch and recovery, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. These tasks are performed on avionics and electrical systems, environmental systems, engines, flight controls, and airframe components. Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. Reads and interprets manufacturers and airline’s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Performs servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs on aviation ground support equipment. Essential Duties: The following tasks are examples of the effort required to perform the duties outlined in the purpose of the position. The list is not all-inclusive.

Requirements

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent hands-on airframe and powerplant experience, with an emphasis on the heavy structural repair.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of C-26 (Metroliner) hands-on experience.
  • Note: The 1 year of experience may, at the Program Manager’s discretion, be waived if the candidate has demonstrated proficiencies in heavy structural repair areas.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Be physically able to deploy with unit aircraft to overseas locations.
  • Must qualify and obtain a Passport (if requested).
  • As a government contractor, V2X requires all employees to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment in accordance with Executive Order 14042. Exceptions to this policy are granted on a case-by-case basis for those that request a religious or medical accommodation. A vaccination status form and proof of vaccination, if applicable, are required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with written company maintenance and logistics procedures.
  • Ability to Interpret drawings, specifications, and aircraft/component schematics and blueprints.
  • Comply with FAA regulations as applicable.
  • Know, understand and comply with the requirements outlined in the Contractor Logistics Support Services (CLS) performance work statement.
  • Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded and corrected in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.
  • Maintain a clean and organized place.
  • Perform aircraft launch and recovery missions as necessary.
  • Deploy to overseas locations with unit aircraft to support operational requirements.
