The Aircraft Mechanic will be a key member of an off-site modification team, responsible for implementation, installation, and testing of equipment. This role may require significant travel (up to 50%) to various locations. When not traveling, the Aircraft Mechanic will support other aviation maintenance programs, including fixed-wing and rotary-wing platforms.

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on various rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft in accordance with manufacturer and service guidance.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair aircraft systems including airframe, powerplant, electrical, avionics, hydraulic, and fuel systems.
  • Conduct pre-flight, post-flight, and routine inspections to ensure aircraft readiness for operations.
  • Remove, repair, and reinstall aircraft components such as seats, panels, fairings, doors, windows, and structural elements as required.
  • Use technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and DOD documentation to conduct maintenance and repairs.
  • Comply with engineering specifications, maintenance instructions, technical orders (TOs), and service bulletins for proper aircraft servicing.
  • Utilize specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspections.
  • Perform modifications and upgrades as required, including assisting with electrical installations, sensor placements, and wire harness routing.
  • Execute post-maintenance operational checks and system functional tests to verify serviceability.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance actions in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Communicate technical concerns, progress updates, and scheduling constraints to supervisors and stakeholders.
  • Adopt a solutions-oriented approach to troubleshooting and customer service, ensuring efficient problem resolution.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have completed a military aviation specialty course or accredited aviation vocational school with at least 6 years of related aviation maintenance experience.
  • An FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is required.
  • Experience with basic sheet metal tasks is preferred.
  • Must provide own hand tools; specialized tooling and test equipment shall be provided.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret or higher security clearance.
  • Must possess effective communication skills with experience in inter-discipline team environment desired.
