THE WORK Provide formal instructions and assistance to perform intermediate level maintenance tasks on F-16 hydraulic system/sub-system components. Teach the student how to perform operational and functional checks and repair on F-16 hydraulic components at the intermediate level. Describe the specific safety hazards, technical orders, and procedures associated with the hydraulic test stand operation as well as the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, reassembly, and testing of the hydraulic system, landing gear system, air refueling system, jet fuel starter system, gun system and flight control system hydraulic components. Troubleshoots, removes, inspects, installs, repairs, modifies, rebuilds, and/or test hydraulic systems and components for aircraft hydraulic systems. Fabricate and repair hydraulic tubing. Provide an overview of hydraulic components and maintenance concepts, as well as the operation and use of the hydraulic test stand. Provide the student with the knowledge and skills to repair F-16 hydraulic system, landing gear system, air refueling system, jet fuel starter system, gun system and flight control system hydraulic components at the intermediate level. Requirements

  • Possess at a minimum the equivalent of a USAF skill level of seven (7) with military experience clearing aircraft for flight equipment discrepancies
  • 4 years current experience in hydraulic system on F-16s.
  • Must be able to use organizational and intermediate level hydraulic test stands.
  • Must have strong communications and interpersonal skills and be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is mandatory.
  • All instructors shall be U.S. citizens.
  • All personnel must have a secret clearance or the ability to obtain a secret clearance prior to employment.
  • All necessary instructor, technical and skills certifications must be obtained prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with foreign nationals and documented Instructor experience is highly desired and will be viewed as a positive element during employment consideration.
  • F-16 Block 40 or higher experience preferred.
  • Candidates with additional experience in any of the following areas are preferred; shop/flight line setup, field training detachment (FTD), technical order library maintenance, quality assurance, or modification teams.
  • Experience in more than one of the aforementioned areas will be viewed as a positive element during employment consideration.
