About The Position

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The team will augment services provided by Air Force military personnel to modify, maintain, inspect, control corrosion, overhaul, repair, regenerate and store various weapon systems, related components, missiles, engines, ground support equipment and vehicles. DUTIES: Provide direct labor support for aircraft egress systems and possess an advanced level of knowledge, skill and ability in the field. Meet the egress requirements outlined in AFI 21-102, chapter 12 and AFMCI21-100, chapter 12. Receive specialty egress training and certification for at least one of the following aircraft prior to performing on this Task Order: A-10 and F-16. May be required to receive just-in- time (JIT) training from the Government for other aircraft MDS egress system removal and installation as required. Accomplish the following functions on A-10 and F- 16, and other aircraft as required: remove/install canopy, remove/install seat/seat support and Cartridge Actuated Device (CAD), remove cockpit CAD, De-CAD aircraft cockpit, and remove fire extinguisher cartridges. Remove fire extinguisher cartridges from other MDS, as needed. Remove, document, and transport components using Government special explosive vehicles as directed in the WCD. Assist with limited towing operations and other aircraft general maintenance tasks that do not require specialized training. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have 8 years minimum of applicable, verifiable experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds
  • May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc
