About The Position

The Aircraft Mechanic III (C/KC-130T) position at Joint Base Andrews, MD involves leading a team in aircraft maintenance, inspections, and both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. The role requires supervising subordinate mechanics and providing technical guidance on maintenance operations for the airframe. The mechanic will perform, supervise, and inspect the duties of Mechanic Is, IIs, and IIIs, maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures, components, and engines of varying complexity. The position demands a comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical troubleshooting, repair procedures, and the ability to interpret technical data such as blueprints and manufacturers' manuals. The mechanic will also be responsible for making entries in aircraft logs and records and providing guidance to lower-level technicians throughout maintenance efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years specialized C-130 aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Current A&P license/certification with 3 years of E-2 or P-3 fixed wing propeller experience.
  • DOD SECRET clearance and ability to obtain Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended shifts, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant License.
  • 20 years' experience and 15 years' experience supporting C-130 aircraft.
  • Experience in structural repair, fabrication, modification, and installation of sheet metal parts.
  • 8 years experience with technical data and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP).
  • CDQAR for Airframes, Power Plants, and Electrical Systems.
  • APU/Engine Low Power/Engine Full Power Operator certification.
  • Vibration Analysis Operator / Interpreter certification.
  • Licensed Forklift Operator certification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of documented aircraft supervisory experience.

Responsibilities
