About The Position

The Aircraft Mechanic III leads a team in performing aircraft maintenance, inspections, and both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. This role involves supervising subordinate mechanics, providing technical guidance, and ensuring adherence to maintenance procedures. The position requires a comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems and the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex issues, while also maintaining aircraft logs and records.

Requirements

• Five or more years of aviation maintenance experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft systems.
• Experience with NALCOMIS/OOMA and organizational maintenance.
• Knowledge of technical directives and basic supply procedures.
• Ability to write with clarity and technical accuracy.

Nice To Haves

• Five or more years' F/A-18 experience.
• Attended F/A-18 initial formal training.
• Eight or more years' experience with NALCOMIS/OOMA.
• Familiarity with NAVAIR IETMS.
• Advanced Corrosion Control Course certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team in aircraft maintenance and inspections.
• Supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance.
• Perform and inspect maintenance duties of Mechanic I, II, and III.
• Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and components.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in various aircraft systems.
• Make entries in aircraft logs and records.
• Coordinate aircraft moves and static display requirements.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support for F/A-18 E-F aircraft.
• Document aircraft maintenance actions via logs and electronic means.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for maintenance tasks.
