About The Position

The Aircraft Mechanic II - Non-Destructive Inspection position at M1 Support Services involves conducting daily NDI operations to inspect aircraft structures and components for defects. The role requires interpreting test results, analyzing wear metal content, and ensuring compliance with technical data and safety standards. The mechanic will also be responsible for documentation and may lead teams in complex inspections and repairs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years as a USAF fighter Non-Destructive technician in A-10, F-15, F-16, F-22, or F-35.
• Certification in accordance with NAS 410 in all five NDI disciplines.
• Working knowledge of MIS systems and strict adherence to aircraft technical data.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mathematics skills are desirable.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government driver's license.
• Experience with vehicle use inspections and cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) operations.
• Inspect structures, components, and support equipment for defects using various testing methods.
• Determine test methods and prepare fluids and parts for inspection.
• Interpret test results and provide information about defects.
• Analyze wear metal content on engine lubricating oil and other fluids.
• Monitor personal exposure areas for radiographic operations.
• Determine metallurgical information of components according to alloy and other factors.
• Read and interpret manufacturers' and aircraft maintenance manuals and technical data.
• Receive technical guidance from management and senior technicians.
• Complete forms documentation pertinent to aircraft maintenance and enter actions into MIS systems.
• Monitor and lead teams for complex aircraft inspections and repairs.
• Write/initiate engineering technical assistance requests as needed.
