The Aircraft Mechanic II (Fuel Cell) is responsible for support of highly sensitive HQ USAF operational plans and safe air transportation for Cabinet Members, senior military leaders, and visiting foreign dignitaries. Essential Responsibilities: Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul and modify fuel systems. Drain fuel from tanks and cells. Perform purge operations on cells and tanks. Removes, reassembles, and installs components. Cleans and inspect fuel cells. Monitors the need for sealants and necessary seals for mission support. Inspect and repair aircraft fuel systems. Monitor bench stock, shop stock and Composite Tool Kits (CTK's). Perform on and off equipment maintenance, as required. Uses maintenance instructions and technical data for inspections and maintenance in the repair of aircraft. Provides the specialized knowledge to accomplish difficult repairs and perform major repairs, as needed. Document discrepancies in the applicable form(s) and inputs data in Maintenance Information Systems. Orders materials and supplies, as required. Ensures compliance with applicable safety, housekeeping, tool control, and FOD prevention programs. Must be able to work, day shift, second shift, third shift, and/or weekend shift, as required. May be tasked to perform work center additional duties with provided training. Shall perform other duties within classification. Must be able to travel to include TDY. Must maintain training requirements.
