About The Position

Will perform field and sustainment level support on AH-64D/E aircraft maintenance as assigned. Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • 4 years of AH-64D/E experience is required
  • 15R course graduate or equivalent
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with AR 95-20, DA PAM 738-751, AR 700-138, and all associated aircraft maintenance manuals
  • Must have own tools and ability to meet minimum tool list requirements, applying FOD and tool control best practices in accordance with AR 95-20 and Flight and Ground Operating Procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate is desired

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.
  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components and subcomponents including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
  • Use technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and apply technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
  • Solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
  • Utilize aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc.
  • Provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.
  • Utilize excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
  • Make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Provide guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
