About The Position

The Aircraft Mechanic I (UH-60) performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems. Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks. Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections. Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. Removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft. Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance. Performs additional duties including maintenance duties, as requested. Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired.
  • Valid up-to-date A&P license (optional).
  • Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience.
  • Two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience.
  • Two (2) years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS) UH-60.
  • All experience must be within the six most recent years.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must provide own tools/toolbox.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of aircraft systems on the assigned MDS.
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, and micrometers.
  • Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.

  • Maintain supplies and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Perform additional maintenance duties as requested.
