The Aircraft Mechanic I (UH-60) performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. The role involves removing and installing aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. The mechanic services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems, prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks, performs scheduled inspections, and assists in performing special inspections. Additionally, the mechanic performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. The position also requires the use and performance of operator maintenance on tools, special tools, and aircraft ground support equipment, as well as preparing forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. The mechanic removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft, maintains supplies, and performs preventive maintenance. Additional duties may include maintenance tasks as requested, all while adhering to company policies and safety programs with a safety-first mentality.
