The Aircraft Mechanic I (UH-60) performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. Responsibilities include removing and installing aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. The mechanic services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems, prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks, performs scheduled inspections, and assists in performing special inspections. They also perform limited maintenance operational checks and assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. The role involves using and performing operator maintenance on tools, special tools, and aircraft ground support equipment, preparing forms and records related to aircraft maintenance, removing and disassembling defective parts of the aircraft, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance. Additional duties may include maintenance tasks as requested, all while adhering to company policies and safety programs with a safety-first mentality.
