About The Position

Akima Technical Solutions (ATS) is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic I -Pope to work in North Carolina. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions on aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneumatics, engines, axillary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. This worker will read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Supporting C-27, C-12 and CASA aircraft.

Requirements

  • Must have previous aviation maintenance experience (turbo-prop experience preferred).
  • Ability to make sound decisions when troubleshooting and maintaining avionics systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics and IETMs.
  • Maintain aircraft logbook forms and records.
  • Experience using multimeters and other applicable tools.
  • Must have the physical capability to work in tight spaces, at heights, on wings, use ladders, operate tugs, operate lifts, bend, squat, kneel for long periods of times
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Ability to obtain / maintain a U.S. DoD Secret clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
