SA-TECH provides the U. S. Army, other U.S. agencies and allied nations with Aerial Target Flight Services, operating and maintaining aerial target flight operations for any directed mission and aerial target flight operations and maintenance services at Fort Bliss, TX; White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM; and other Posts, Camps, and Stations (PCS) in the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside CONUS (OCONUS). We are currently seeking to an Aircraft Mechanic Helper at WSMR based out of our facilities in Orogrande, NM to assist our aircraft mechanics in servicing, repairing and overhauling aircraft and aircraft engines, performing any combination of the following duties: Adjusts and replaces parts such as control cables, fuel tanks, spark plugs, tires, batteries and filters Uses mechanic's tools and removes inspection plates, cowlings, engine covers, floor boards and related items to provide access for inspection and repair (and replaces items when work is completed) Assists in towing and jacking aircraft and disconnects instruments, ignition systems and fuel and oil lines. Assists in dismantling, repairing, overhauling or replacing parts and assemblies such as engines, plumbing and hydraulic systems and aircraft structural sections Performs routine duties such as furnishing materials, tools and supplies to mechanic; lifting and holding materials in place during operation; cleaning work areas and machines, tools and equipment; cleaning aircraft, interior and exterior parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions; assists in jacking and towing aircraft; inflates tires, fills gasoline tanks and oil reservoirs; using a grease gun, greases aircraft; and may assist flight line mechanic, worker, or servicer in servicing and repairing aircraft prior to flight. Work includes cross-utilization into other positions that fall into the scope of work. Work Conditions: Conditions will vary but most work will be accomplished in enclosed buildings. There will be work on the range throughout the year so temperatures will vary over the course of the year. Daily work will include 45% standing, 25% walking, 20% sitting, 5% reaching, and 5% lifting (you must be capable of lifting 50-100 pounds assisted by others). Work includes cross-utilization into other positions that fall within our scope of work. The position will require overtime and weekend work. You must be able to deploy to both CONUS and OCONUS for short stints. Other related duties may be assigned.
