About The Position

Repairs, maintains, and inspects aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Removes and installs aircraft components. Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems. Special certifications may be required. May be required to adjust, align, and rig aircraft systems. May be required to direct and/or performs aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations. Identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair. May be required to perform crash recovery duties. Required to perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly supports necessary functions of this job classification.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives and data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures and the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations and use is mandatory.
  • Must have working knowledge of Air Force supply procedures to look up, place orders, receive and maintain parts and materials to complete assigned work.
  • Completion of high school with courses in mathematics is desirable.
  • Completion of an advanced applicable aircraft maintenance course is mandatory
  • Qualification as Aircraft Mechanic is mandatory.
  • A minimum of five years of performing functions, such as repairing and maintaining aircraft equipment or components, is mandatory.
  • Operational check, troubleshoot, remove/replace/repair components, assemble/disassemble, install, bench-check, service, AC powers system, DC power system, integrated drive generator (IDG), generator control unit (GCU), external power system, Lighting system, exterior, interior, emergency, position lights, anti-collision, formation, slipway lights, taxi light.
  • Remove install, adjust, operational check, troubleshoot, bench-check, service the following: landing gear system, handle, control switches, arresting hook indication/canopy indication/overheat fire/master caution/fuel warning and control systems, anti-skid, brake holding, nose gear steering, secondary flight control, engine bleed air, fire extinguishing system, squibs, fire bottles, start and ignition/air conditioning/pressurization systems and liquid cooling systems.
  • You must have held an Air Force E&E AFSC also have experience on F-15C/D aircraft and possess the required qualifications in the attached job description.
  • Must be able to travel in performance of these duties.
  • SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.
