About The Position

The Aircraft Mechanic must accurately repair and perform scheduled maintenance on 737 aircraft and their associated engines and sub-systems to ensure airworthiness. Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License Required

Requirements

  • Relevant hands-on experience gaining the necessary skills with thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components to perform the job successfully.
  • High School diploma or General Education Diploma, GED, or technical school certificate.
  • Thorough knowledge of current FAA regulations, IPM, and ATA codes
  • Familiar with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations
  • Must be able to pass a medical physical/evaluation exam prior to conducting flight and maintenance operations, and on a periodic basis within a five (5) year period in accordance with DCMA Instruction 8210.
  • Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) in a timely manner.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Must be able to maintain ability to access worksite location to include various military installations and airports to meet customer operational requirements.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check
  • Experience working on 737 airframes
  • MUST HAVE Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, replaces and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as cowlings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet guns and drills.
  • Reads and interprets manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other related documentation to determine feasibility and method of altering or repairing the aircraft and its associated components, determining the airworthiness of the aircraft and its associated components and replacement for malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Inspects engines and their associated components for airworthiness, repairs or replaces defective engine parts and associated components, removes and installs engines onto the aircraft.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and replace electrical wiring and associated components.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including hydraulic system servicing, engine oil replenishment, aircraft systems lubrication and aircraft fueling.
  • Interacts with company maintenance control, the customer and manufacturer in matters that concern the airworthiness of the aircraft, operational readiness of the aircraft and issues related to the troubleshooting of the aircrafts system.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Consistently produces quality products and service.
  • Completes all training within required timeline.
  • Performs all work in a safe and secure manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
