About The Position

The Aircraft Mechanic-Aviation Life Support Services (PR) performs organizational, intermediate and limited depot level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft, components and equipment. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to other employees as needed. Interpret IETMS, Maintenance Instruction Manuals, and Company directives to perform maintenance. Install and remove cartridge actuated devices and propulsion actuated devices. Pack, unpack, preserve and maintain parachutes and seat survival kits. Repair, fit, maintain and preserve pilots’ personal equipment. Issues and receives aircrew survival equipment. Initiate and update checkout/return records. Assemble, place in service and perform calendar inspections on oxygen mask assemblies, survival vest, helmets and other related safety/survival equipment. Perform aircraft conditional and special inspections of installed safety/survival equipment. Identifies and treats corrosion. Briefs and debriefs aircrew on use and condition of survival equipment. Maintains foreign object damage (FOD), hazardous waste, and tool control programs.

Requirements

  • Shall be a qualified PR “A” School graduate or Air Force school graduate IAW COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 Series.
  • Minimum of three years within the last five years practical experience at the organizational or intermediate level is required.
  • Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment and prevention.
  • Shall be qualified according to their field of expertise and the level of maintenance assigned.
  • Recent experience with F-18A-F, EA-18G, E-2C, MH-60S aircraft required
  • Possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft systems.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals, publications, instructions and special tools and test equipment.
  • Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of aircraft systems.
  • Prior military personnel must present a member 4 DD214 with an Honorable character of service discharge.
  • Must be customer oriented.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret Government Clearance Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Possess valid State Driver's license.
  • High School diploma
