About The Position

The Aircraft Materials and Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of materials management and procurement operations. This role ensures regulatory compliance, inventory accuracy, cost efficiency, and timely support of maintenance and flight operations.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of FAA Part 145 and/or Part 135 material requirements.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computer-based work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Project Management, or a related field (preferred, not required).
  • 10+ years of aviation procurement experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years working with Learjet and Gulfstream aircraft platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and train materials department personnel.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including:
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Performance management, discipline, and documentation (in coordination with Human Resources)
  • Oversee production control, inventory management, shipping/receiving, and materials storage.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet operational and customer timelines.
  • Ensure accuracy of perpetual and rotable inventory systems.
  • Maintain inventory records in compliance with FAA Part 135 and/or Part 145 requirements in coordination with the Chief Inspector.
  • Ensure proper segregation and handling of unserviceable parts.
  • Respond to Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations with urgency and priority.
  • Review requisitions, purchase orders, and vouchers for accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze specifications and identify optimal sourcing strategies.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor bids and contracts.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving of parts and finished goods.
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities across the department.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, pricing, and delivery performance.
  • Manage storage and handling of inventory to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Perform inventory write-offs for damaged or obsolete materials.
  • Conduct monthly and annual physical inventory audits.
  • Ensure adherence to Part 145 processes and internal procedures.
  • Manage staffing schedules to support after-hours and weekend operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with DCMA 8210.1D and other applicable government regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
