Our weekend Shift schedule is Friday-Sunday, 6am-6:30pm. The shift incentive includes a 11.11% shift differential and 3 day workweek. What you can expect as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician at West Star: Whether you are replacing or repairing parts, troubleshooting electrical/mechanical/hydraulic and pneumatic systems or performing inspections on some of the most sophisticated civilian aircraft in the world, no day is the same. Requirements

  • A High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Airframe or Powerplant license is required. Airframe license is preferred.
  • AMT I: 0-2 years of experience in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar. These technicians have limited to moderate knowledge of general maintenance aspects. Technicians require close supervision of general maintenance tasks
  • AMT II: 2-4 years of experience working in aviation maintenance. Experience working on corporate aircraft is preferred but not essential. These technicians have considerable knowledge of the job and general maintenance aspects. Technicians require general supervision on routine maintenance and more detailed instruction for new or special assignments.
  • AMT III: Airframe license is required; in addition, Powerplant license is highly preferred. 4-6+ years' experience in aviation maintenance. Experience working on corporate aircraft is highly preferred but not essential. These technicians have full knowledge of general, detailed, and special assignments in aircraft maintenance
  • AMT IV (Master): Airframe and Powerplant license is required. 6+ years' experience in aviation maintenance. Must have extensive experience on corporate aircraft platforms. Subject matter expert in all areas of the job
  • Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
  • Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
  • Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
  • Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
  • Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
  • Lifts 50 lbs.
  • Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
  • Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
  • Climb ladders and stairs, work in small, restricted areas
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.
  • Work with others in a professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
  • Experience working on corporate aircraft is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working on corporate aircraft is highly preferred but not essential.
  • Powerplant license is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
  • Removal and installation of panels and components,
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving aircraft system/component issues
  • De-fueling aircraft,
  • Engine removal/installations,
  • Operating ground support equipment,
  • Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components
  • Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/ taxiing
  • Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling
  • Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
