Job Summary The Specialist Aircraft Maintenance Technician is an FAA-certified airframe and powerplant mechanic responsible for conducting required inspections and repairs on aircraft assigned to the School of Aviation & Transportation Technology. This role also includes instructing aviation maintenance students, as assigned by the supervisor or Director of Maintenance. Additional responsibilities involve supporting the operation of Purdue University's aircraft fleet through activities such as towing, ground deicing, cleaning, fueling, hangaring, and maintaining aircraft security. The technician will also assist with maintaining accurate maintenance records, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, monitoring service bulletins, service letters, and manuals, as well as supporting the maintenance of ground support equipment and physical facilities.
