About The Position

The Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) at Breeze Airways is responsible for overseeing and directing the work of other AMTs, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and company policies. This role involves hands-on maintenance work, communication with Maintenance Operations Control, and maintaining documentation related to aircraft maintenance. The Lead AMT plays a crucial role in ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft and upholding the company's values of safety, kindness, integrity, ingenuity, and excellence.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement.
  • Must hold a current, valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P) with no history of infractions.
  • 5+ years of aviation maintenance experience maintaining commercial aircraft.
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a valid passport with no travel restrictions.
  • Must have authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime if needed.
  • Must be willing to travel 20% of the time.
  • Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test.
  • Must pass a TSA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check and a Breeze background check.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding and working knowledge of FAA regulations including FAR part 121 operations.
  • Experience maintaining Airbus A220 & Embraer E-Jet family aircraft.
  • Familiarity with an airline Maintenance Information System (MIS) such as TRAX.
  • Degree in Aerospace, Aviation Maintenance or Business Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns, leads, and directs the work of AMTs under supervision.
  • Ensures all work performed is in accordance with the Breeze General Maintenance Manual and company policies.
  • Responsible for all work performed at the local station.
  • Communicates with Maintenance Operations Control regarding aircraft status.
  • Completes all appropriate Breeze forms for assigned and performed work.
  • Handles all parts, units, assemblies, and aircraft properly during repairs.
  • Maintains current documentation of open discrepancies and completed corrective actions.
  • Completes all required documentation for maintenance work or inspections accurately.
  • Submits personal OJT Task Cards on time and accurately.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and operative work area and accounts for all tools after tasks are completed.
  • Cares for and uses tooling and equipment for aircraft maintenance properly.
  • Notifies the Maintenance Supervisor of any conditions compromising aircraft airworthiness.
  • Maintains a valid Airframe & Powerplant Certificate for inspection by relevant authorities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Maintenance Leadership, MOC, or DOM.
  • Achieves performance measures and adheres to established standards.
