About The Position

The Aircraft Maintenance Manager 2 position at Northrop Grumman involves overseeing the testing and maintenance of multiple aircraft and aircraft systems, specifically focusing on Low Observables (LO) technology. This leadership role is based at Edwards AFB, CA, and requires ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality in aircraft operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 9 years of relevant professional/military experience including 5 years of aircraft Low Observables maintenance experience, or a Master's degree and 7 years of relevant experience including 5 years of aircraft Low Observables maintenance experience.
  • Prior leadership/management experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a developmental/operational test maintenance environment.
  • Experience in a US Air Force Combined Test Force (CTF).
  • Experience leading an aircraft operation under DCMA Instruction 8210 oversight.
  • Experience in aircraft modifications and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure assigned aircraft are maintained and serviced according to company policy and maintenance schedules.
  • Oversee all aspects of aircraft Low Observables outer mold line structures and maintenance.
  • Directly supervise staff, manage assignments, and coordinate with program leadership.
  • Generate aircraft to support tests in accordance with requirements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of surface preparation, coating applications, and testing.
  • Forecast, plan, and complete required air vehicle maintenance and modifications.
  • Schedule shifts, teams, and work packages.
  • Manage and track air vehicle configuration.
  • Assign daily work requirements to the team.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee training records.
