About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Aircraft Machinist to support the Fabrication Program in Orangeburg, South Carolina on variable shift. Position Responsibilities: Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting machine code data (MCD).
  • 1+ years of experience operating 3/5 axis CNC machines & manual lathe.
  • 1+ years of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, electrical schematics, and reading and interpreting blueprints or drawings.
  • 1+ years of experience setting up and fixtures, operating, and programming CNC machines, i.e. with 3 and 5 axis CNC machines.
  • 1+ years of experience setting up NC/CNC machines, including probing and using dial indicators to establish set points.
  • 1+ years of experience in a team environment.
