About The Position

You will be the Aircraft Jig & Fixture Builder for the team which is responsible for planning the sequence of operations, layout, and construction of various types and sizes of jigs and fixtures used in the fabrication of aircraft parts and assemblies. What You Will Be Doing As the Aircraft Jig & Fixture Builder, you will be responsible for planning the sequence of operations, fabricating, building, and making complete layout of jigs and fixtures, and tool masters involving compound angles and complex contours. Your responsibilities will include: Working from tool design drawings, part and assembly blueprints, loft data, sketches, sample parts, and other reference data as may be provided by a computerized theodolite system Suggesting changes in design involving practicability, economy, and process of manufacture to proper personnel Making determinations regarding fabrication and design of detail parts such as fittings, stops, locating pins, and mechanical operation of jigs and submitting them for approval to proper personnel Laying out jig and fixture parts for subsequent machining operations Setting up on surface table or tooling docks such jigs and fixtures as master inspection gauges, involving complex contours, compound angles, and requiring the coordination of drill holes and location of critical points to all reference lines What’s In It For You We are committed to supporting your work-life balance and overall well-being, offering flexible scheduling options. Who You Are The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced jig and fixture builder with a strong knowledge of machine shop theory and practice, and jig and fixture building. You will have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, and the ability to use shop mathematics including trigonometry. Further Information About This Opportunity MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. GAhourly Basic Qualifications 1. Three years of experience as a Jig & Fixture Builder. A maximum of six months credit towards the three-year requirement above may be given to an employee who has satisfactorily completed a Tool Maker-Trainee program. OR 2. Completion of a high quality industrial based Jig & Fixture Builder Apprenticeship program. Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training (BAT) Certified Apprenticeship programs are typically 8,000 hours in duration. (NOTE: LMASC had a certified one of 6,000 hours which was an exception.) OR 3. Completion of a high quality industrial based Jig & Fixture Builder Training program. These programs should be typically 6,000 - 8,000 hours in duration and be similar in curriculum and standards as 2 above. Lockheed Martin is an equal opportunity employer. Ability to work remotely Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. National Pay Statement The base range for this position in California is $28.24 - 45.43.
