About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking someone to join our flight department team! SEL is responsible for keeping the lights on, by designing and manufacturing digital relays and power grid protection, control and monitoring systems. As an Aircraft Ground Support Technician working in this fast paced and exciting flight department, you will help SEL utilize our fleet of aircraft as an important business tool to their peak! This person must be willing to commute to Lewiston in the future to support our growing Aviation operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Ability to operate custodial operation-related equipment and use applicable chemicals, supplies, hand and power tools
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and strictly enforce safety procedures
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communications
  • Ability to work various shifts, hours and days depending on workload
  • Current driver's license and unblemished driving record for past three years
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Valid passport
  • Negative drug test result(s)
  • Lift and maneuver 50 pounds frequently
  • Stand for at least 8 hours

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience and increasing responsibilities in maintaining and cleaning commercial facilities
  • High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Perform post flight interior and exterior cleaning of aircraft.
  • Complete stocking of aircraft galley and lavatory vanity.
  • Monitor expiration dates of food and beverages on all planes.
  • Recover, marshal, and tow aircraft upon arrival.
  • Assist flight crews and passengers during departures and recoveries.
  • Manage rental cars on ramp.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on hangar equipment.
  • Assist with grounds keeping, custodial duties, and trash removal when required.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities listed above at our KLWS base of operations.
  • Ability to travel to perform emergency egress duties (~10%/year)
  • Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
