About The Position

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for an Aircraft Electrician Installer to join our Manufacturing department based in Mobile, AL. Responsible for completing electrical installations and connections which include basic aircraft installation, cabin installations, cockpit and cargo and ground test. Your working environment: Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond. Your challenges: Perform tests and inspections including but not limited to: the preparation and change of programs, checks system functions in compliance with work orders, inspects earth connections, performs continuity tests including ground test inspection, start of operation, trouble shooting, debugging, entering of measured values and documenting same in the SAP system. Installs and produces electrical components at the station as per order including collecting, reading, comparing and set-up. Prepares electrical components at the station or workplace according to work order including marking, preparing, laying, connecting, assembling, bundling, painting and soldering of parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies. Adapts, torques and secures electrical components including: equipment panels, printed circuit boards, sections and the documentation of works and queries (e.g. PIR Book, outstanding work folio items). Responsible for the sequencing and performance of work and subsequent results. Perform other duties as assigned. Your boarding pass: Required Education: High school diploma or GED. The ability to successfully complete the following trainings provided by Airbus after recruitment: • Health & Safety • General aircraft familiarization • Quality Training Preferred Education: Training from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of application tools and in application techniques. Completion of technology Certification of Training program from a post-secondary institution or a previous employer and documentation of the same. Required Experience: 2 years minimum experience in Aviation Production or equivalent (I.E Shipbuilding, Heavy Machinery, Automotive Manufacturing, Military Aviation, MRO Aviation). Preferred Experience: 5+ years minimum experience in Aviation Production or equivalent (I.E Shipbuilding, Heavy Machinery, Automotive Manufacturing)(I.E Shipbuilding, Heavy Machinery, Automotive Manufacturing, Military Aviation, MRO Aviation). Travel Required: 5% Domestic and International. Authorized to Work in the US. Required Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Knowledge of station safety, quality (clean as you go / Foreign Object Debris) and OSHA regulations. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Experience following a written "recipe" for assembly where you cannot deviate from the instructions. Documentation: Experience signing off on your work, logging parts, or tracking lot numbers for quality control. Electrician/Avionics Equivalent: Wire harness assembly, soldering, or crimping to specific standards (e.g., IPC standards). Required Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Effective verbal and written communication skills. Required Technical Systems Proficiency: Able to enter, generate and retrieve information using a computer (SAP and Excel knowledge required). Physical Requirements: Vision: Able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Hearing: Able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Equipment Operation: Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Pushing/Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Sitting: Able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information. Travel: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice. Able to work outside hangers in changing locations. Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor or outdoor surfaces and other business interactions. This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed.
