About The Position

At Inland Deicing Services, our sole focus is the safe, efficient, professional delivery of deicing and anti-icing services to our airline carrier customers and recovery of the spent deicing fluid (SDF) to protect our environment. Position Overview: The primary role of the aircraft deicer is to remove ice from the aircraft. The individual in this position inspects the aircraft for ice and for remaining frozen contamination after the deicing has been performed. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old;
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
  • Intermediate computer skills;
  • Maintain and treat all information as confidential;
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English;
  • Must be able to verbally direct in English;
  • Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives;
  • Successful completion of all IDS classroom and OJT de-/anti-icing training;
  • Must be able to speak and hear efficiently.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
  • Must be available to work at least 3 shifts minimum per week (Monday - Friday) and at least 2 weekend days per month;
  • PIT is a Single Operator (SO) Station. You are required to become certified (weather permitting) within 60 days of your practical training date. Single Operator certified comes with a $1.00/hr. pay increase
  • Successful completion of the airport badging and background check process required for this location.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe environment during the de/anti-icing operation and make sure all company policies and procedures are being followed correctly;
  • Uphold and follow the duties related to de/anti-icing aircraft according to procedures for both airlines and IDS including inspecting aircraft for frozen contamination;
  • Participate in the pre-planning for the de/anti-ice event (perform checks on equipment, trucks, servicing equipment with fuel or glycol);
  • Ensure proper shutdown of pads, including paperwork and log books; that all maintenance issues have been logged and reported to maintenance and all proper shutdown procedures for the equipment are followed.
