About The Position

Overview: We are looking for a skilled Aircraft Painter to support operations in a high-volume FAA Part 145 Repair Station. This position focuses on prepping and coating aircraft parts to meet strict industry regulations and quality standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality finishes while working in a regulated environment.

Requirements

• Prior experience in industrial or aircraft painting (aerospace experience strongly preferred)
• Familiarity with spray equipment, paint systems, and curing methods
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical documentation
• Experience with surface prep processes like sanding, masking, and media blasting
• Strong eye for detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently, including overnight or off-shift schedules
• Experience working with epoxy or urethane-based coatings

Nice To Haves

• Background working in an FAA-regulated or aviation setting is a plus
• Knowledge of aerospace or military coating specifications is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for coating by cleaning, sanding, masking, and blasting surfaces
• Apply primers, topcoats, and specialty finishes using spray equipment such as HVLP systems and pressure pots
• Mix coatings according to specifications, including multi-component paints and epoxies
• Follow blueprints, technical instructions, and process guidelines to ensure accurate application
• Monitor coating thickness, adhesion, and overall finish quality
• Complete final touch-ups and rework when needed
• Maintain compliance with FAA regulations, internal procedures, and safety protocols
• Keep paint booths and work areas clean, organized, and inspection-ready
• Safely handle and dispose of paints and chemicals in accordance with OSHA standards
