We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft. This position is onsite in Fort Worth at the Commercial Business Center which is close to south end of DFW airport. Civil Certification Team, Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) (across multiple levels) The Certification Project Specialist is an Engineer that is part of the Civil Certification group supporting Bell commercial aircraft. The CPS coordinates and facilitates certification projects for Commercial aircraft to ensure compliance with ODA procedures and regulatory agency requirements. The CPS will assist applicants with airworthiness needs by planning, leading and assisting in the completion of compliance activities and testing required to obtain certification in coordination with the ODA and FAA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
  • At least 5 years' aircraft certification experience. 6 or more years preferred.
  • Familiarity with FAA certification processes: 14 CFR Part 21, 23, 25, 27, 29.
  • Prefer experience working with an Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) ODA system.

  • Able to navigate engineering data in a product life cycle management application (ENOVIA), understand configuration management and interpret engineering drawings/designs/specifications.

  • Excellent communicator; must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead certification projects by coordinating with ODA Administrators, Unit Members, and engineering organization to ensure certification projects comply with FAA and ODA procedural requirements.
  • Ensure the FAA/ODA and other certification requirements are understood and provide guidance on regulatory compliance to engineering and management.
  • Manage the completion of certification activities to meet critical milestones.
  • Prepare/review certification deliverables such as certification plans, conformity plans, compliance checklists, test plans, test reports, Issue Papers, Statements of Compliance and other necessary documentation.
  • Maintain detailed project records including, but not limited to, internal and external correspondence, project application data, presentation materials, supporting compliance data, and compliance checklists.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the FAA and other certification agencies to facilitate the execution of certification projects.
