About The Position

You will be an Aircraft Avionics Technician I. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional results, and we're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Aircraft Avionics Technician I to join our team. As an Aircraft Avionics Technician I, you will be responsible for: The Avionics Technician I (Level I) provides entry‑level electrical and avionics maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for the SOF GLSS rotary‑wing fleets. The duties of this title will perform many tasks independently. The candidate will commonly assist or work within general instructions from higher rated employees in the environment. The duties will include scheduled and unscheduled modifications, inspections, and ensure all electrical systems meet airworthiness standards to support time‑critical Special Operations missions. This position supports our Special Operations Forces – Global Logistics Support Services (SOF GLSS) contract, the U.S. Special Operations Command’s largest service contract vehicle, providing tailored logistics, maintenance, and sustainment services. This position is in Lexington. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Requirements

  • Aircraft Handling Knowledge – Understanding of safe grounding, electrostatic discharge precautions, and aircraft handling procedures relevant to electrical work.
  • Maintenance Record Keeping – Ability to accurately document all electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in required logs and systems.
  • Quality Verification – Demonstrated skill in verifying that work meets required standards for reliability, safety, and airworthiness.
  • Line Maintenance Experience – Capability to support electrical systems during flight‑line operations with routine troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Operational Flexibility – Effective teamwork and independent work habits, with readiness for varying shift structures and travel.
  • Must possess or be eligible for the required security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Specific Aircraft Electrical Experience Experience with MD‑500 / AH‑MH‑6 or similar small‑helicopter platforms – troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and component replacement.
  • Familiarity with Larger Helicopter Airframes Knowledge of electrical systems on CH‑MH‑47 and UH‑MH‑60 airframes; ability to support multiple platforms.
  • Avionics Systems – Calibration of navigation, communication, and flight‑control electronics.
  • Power Generation & Distribution – Maintenance of generators, batteries, wiring harnesses, circuit protection devices.
  • Electrical Troubleshooting – Proficient use of diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, avionics test sets).
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license, DoD/USAF avionics or electrical certification, or equivalent military qualifications preferred.
  • Completion of aircraft electrical/avionics maintenance courses (e.g., Rotor‑Wing Electrical Maintenance School).
