About The Position

L3Harris is actively seeking a successful candidate that will be experienced in performing major and minor scheduled and unscheduled maintenance IAW military T.O.s, commercial maintenance manuals, and service bulletins of aircraft avionic systems and subsystems. They will also provide technical assistance and guidance during aircrew de-briefs and perform towing, marshalling, and positioning of aircraft on flight line. Perform other related tasks as required in support of engineering, testing, and production for the program. Essential Functions: Having Avionics and TOMS experience with: P-8, 737, or other relevant aircraft experience.  Ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, T.O specs, and engineering specifications. Ability to assemble close tolerance parts and use common hand tools. Ability to be certified to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, aircraft support equipment and towing vehicles. Ability to climb, including ladders, stairs, and portable stands and navigate these without assistance.  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Willingness and ability to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odor, and dust.  Willingness and ability to work any shift, and overtime as needed. Work schedule can be 7 days a week, up to 20% overtime. Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance, which requires US citizen. No dual citizenship.
  • Must complete a flight line physical. 
  • Minimum 6 months experience with NALCOMIS Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA) and Advanced System Management (ASM) systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Airframe and Powerplant license (A&P).
  • Working knowledge of Periodic Maintenance Information Cards/Maintenance Requirement Cards.
  • Experience in managing EWIS, ESD/EMI and any other related US Navy Aviation Avionics programs.
  • APU and/or Ground turn qualified is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Possess strong motivational skills.
  • Demonstrate creative problem-solving capabilities.
