In this role, you can expect to assemble and install various mechanical, structural, and hydraulic components on aircraft, working with a range of materials including metals and composites. Requirements

  • A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is required.
  • Willingness to learn new skillsets.
  • Basic mechanical skills, familiarity with tools preferred.
  • Experience with general automotive repairs, service or mechanical projects is helpful.
  • Ability to work in areas exposed to dust, dirt, and loud noises.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, riveting, and fitting to complete assemblies and wing buildups, ensuring precise alignment of multiple parts.
  • Apply sealing, bonding agents, and other liquid adhesives according to specifications to ensure secure and durable assemblies.
  • Use a variety of power and hand tools, including aircraft mechanic tools, electric and pneumatic drills, and measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and tension meters.
  • Conduct precise operations in closed bays, such as drilling, reaming, shooting/bucking fasteners, and installing hi-locks.
  • Load and unload completed assemblies, while carefully handling the valuable components.
