About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking Experienced Production Test Electrical + Test Heavy Assemblers (Level B or Level C) to assist with multiple areas of the 787 production system in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift! This role offers an exciting opportunity within a dynamic manufacturing assembly environment. Team members will leverage their prior experience, and the knowledge gained from training and certifications to complete daily assigned tasks effectively. Individuals will be responsible for identifying their work locations on advanced airplanes, parts, and tooling by interpreting intricate drawings to accurately complete detailed work instructions. Attention to detail and procedure compliance is critical to identify all necessary hand tools, parts, and equipment required to ensure defect-free work. Requirements

  • Ability to work a variable shift.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as flexion and extension, handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking, climbing/balancing, crawling, crouching.
  • Ability to carry/lift up to 10-35 pounds.
  • Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.
  • 1+ years of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.
  • 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
  • 1+ years of experience in electrical assembly and/or electronic materials.
  • 1+ years of experience in avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with functional testing of aircraft electrical systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with functional testing of IFE systems knowledge.
  • 3+ years of experience with aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with 787 Program Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications.
  • Adhere to high standards of safety and quality.
  • Comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
  • Ensure work conforms to engineering drawings and specifications, has First Pass Quality (FPQ) and is free from Foreign Object Debris.
  • Use computers and software applications in a production environment.
  • Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications.
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task.
  • Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. ladders, tiger and aerial lifts).
  • Use various hand tools.
  • Perform functional testing of aircraft electrical systems and components.
  • Perform aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair.
  • Assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.
  • Perform complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems.
  • Identify roadblocks and production constraints, escalating issues which cannot be resolved by the team.
  • Support teammates to improve overall team performance by providing cross training and mentoring.
