About The Position

As an A&P Mechanic II, you will be responsible for repairs, replacement, and maintenance of key aircraft components. You'll perform the necessary checks related to the mechanical and functional components of the aircraft, including the testing of and replacement of defective or faulty parts. You'll use a variety of provided tools and equipment to perform diagnosis on parts to be replaced, and ensure repairs and maintenance are compliant with national and international standards of work. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience.
  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience.
  • Must pass written, oral and practical assessments.
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.
  • Base level knowledge of flightline operational schedules.
  • Basic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Edwards AFB.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
