About The Position

Aircraft Acoustics Engineer The Opportunity: Designs, implements, analyzes, and advises on aircraft acoustics, noise, and personnel hearing protection. Conducts acoustic noise measurements of high-performance jet aircraft, noise modeling, community noise, speech intelligibility, and noise attenuation of hearing protection devices. Evaluates speech intelligibility studies, noise and acoustic measurements, and modeling and simulations of environmental safety and occupational health related issues. Applies advanced advisory skills and extensive technical expertise using full industry knowledge. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Coordinates with multiple DoD, industry, and international stakeholder communities. Works without considerable direction while mentoring and supervising team members. Join us. The world can't wait.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with environmental safety and occupational health engineering, preferably specific to aircraft acoustics
  • Experience with noise generated by high performance jet aircraft and noise modeling
  • Knowledge of noise and vibration exposure evaluation testing for high performance aircraft
  • Ability to plan, conduct, and analyze speech intelligibility studies for aircrew and ground crew personnel
  • Ability to manage the Acoustic Environment portion of a Programmatic Environmental Safety and Health Evaluation in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act
  • Ability to coordinate directly with client leadership and complex stakeholder communities
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or technology

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience with acoustics and occupational health relative to high performance aircraft and basing
  • 4+ years of experience in hearing protection devices for ground crew personnel and total noise exposure around aircraft
  • Knowledge of industry, Federal, and DoD standards for environmental safety, occupational health, and noise limits, including MIL-STD-1474 and MIL-STD-882
