The Fixed-Wing Airborne Sensor Operator (ASO) is responsible for operating a gimbal camera system on a fixed-wing aircraft, working closely with the Pilot in Command. This role emphasizes teamwork, troubleshooting, and Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills to ensure operational efficiency and flight safety. The position requires travel for extended periods and is suited for individuals with manned flight experience and a high tolerance for motion sickness.

  • Organize and gather all necessary equipment for each flight
  • Exercise Crew Resource Management at all times
  • Operate onboard thermal camera gimbal
  • Quality control imagery and data during acquisition
  • Offload and organize data after missions
  • Follow all company SOPs and be flexible as mission requirements require
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot camera gimbal systems in an airborne environment
  • Understanding of thermography
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be comfortable in small aircraft and not prone to motion sickness
  • Demonstrated ability to think clearly and stay calm in high stress situations
  • High School Diploma and/or G.E.D.
  • 1-2 years of manned aviation or related experience
  • Familiarity with ForeFlight and other general aviation tools
  • Experience using thermal camera systems
  • $32.00 per hour
  • Part-time schedule with evening and overnight shifts
  • Opportunity for extended travel
