About The Position

Airborne SATCOM Network Engineer The Opportunity: A well-designed network is critical to move data to achieve a mission, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network with the right equipment and software requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, someone who can use their ingenuity to maintain network uptime supporting SATCOM networks across the world. As an Airborne Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Network Engineer, you will be managing, monitoring, and enhancing local and wide-area network systems, including planning design, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites, and communications media with concentrators, bridges, and other network devices. Additionally, you will help resolve interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms. You will support performance testing and documentation, administration of networks, and configuration management, and provide input on acquisitions and design layout, as requested. Join us. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience supporting SATSTAR or SSHF networks, including engineering, planning, and testing end-to-end network connectivity
  • Experience coordinating with stakeholders and supporting organizations to conduct in-depth analyses of programmatic and engineering documentation related to SATCOM and baseband requirements
  • Experience configuring and establishing site-to-site VPN connectivity and VPN client software
  • Experience with national airborne SATCOM systems ground operation, testing, and troubleshooting, including voice, data, or circuit analysis, to resolve network connectivity issues
  • Experience providing engineering or technical support, developing technical briefings, and advising senior management, as well as providing technical updates in various forums such as working groups, meetings, conferences, or panels
  • Ability to provide Information Assurance (IA) support to the ISSM essential for the successful development, deployment, and operation of the client’s network
  • Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations up to 10% of the time
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, or Engineering field

  • Experience with testing and deployment of DoD systems or solutions
  • Experience with the military
  • Knowledge of military organizational hierarchy and command and control structure
  • Knowledge of shipping and installation of site equipment
  • Ability to initiate, manage, execute, and report tasks independently
  • Master’s degree
  • Network+, Security+, CCNA, or CCNP Certification
