We are seeking an Open Computing Architect to support the Airborne Mission Systems (AMS) Sub Market Segment. In this senior technical leadership role, you will define and execute Open Computing roadmaps and technical strategies supporting both program execution and competitive captures across General Purpose, Safety-Critical, and Secure Processing domains. As the Open Computing Architect, you will serve as the technical authority for open computing architectures within the AMS portfolio. This role requires strategic vision, strong technical depth, and the ability to influence architectural direction across multiple programs. You are a recognized technical leader with extensive experience architecting complex airborne and mission-critical computing systems. You understand how to balance performance, security, safety, cost, and schedule in high-consequence environments. Requirements

  • Significant experience designing open computing architectures for aerospace or defense applications
  • Expertise across general-purpose, safety-critical, and secure processing environments
  • Strong knowledge of MOSA and modular open systems principles
  • Experience guiding technology roadmaps and technical strategy
  • Proven leadership in proposal development and program execution
  • Executive-level communication and customer engagement skills
  • Demonstrated accountability for technical performance outcomes
  • Experience managing program cost and schedule execution (Earned Value Management, Formal Risk and Opportunity Management)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 12+ years relative experience
  • Prior experience in engineering development programs, specifically to include avionics (or similarly ruggedized) computing systems
  • Experience developing technology roadmaps / strategies
  • Experience managing program cost and schedule execution (Earned Value Management, Formal Risk and Opportunity Management)

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated expertise in airborne mission systems computing development
  • Experience in integrated resource planning (i.e. IRAD, Capital, etc.)
  • Experience with Secure Processing and Safety Critical Development (DO-178C, DO-254) up to Design Assurance Level A

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Open Computing roadmaps aligned to business strategy
  • Define technical approaches for captures and proposals
  • Design and oversee computing system architectures aligned to performance, security, and modularity objectives
  • Ensure alignment with MOSA and open standards
  • Incorporate emerging technologies to inform IRAD and investment priorities
  • Provide technical leadership across cross-functional engineering teams
  • Serve as senior technical interface with customers and stakeholders
  • Drive architectural consistency across programs
  • Maintain accountability for engineering technical, cost, and schedule performance on assigned efforts
