About The Position

The Air Traffic Controller is responsible for ensuring safe separation of aircraft, coordinating air traffic control clearances, and controlling all flight line activities of all transient aviation. The Air Traffic Controller maintains tower event logs, performs weather observer duties, and issues all relevant notices and approvals for aviation transit activities. Work Model: On-site

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One of the following: Federal Aviation Administration Control Tower Operator certificate OR Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Licensed Air Traffic Control (ATC) Specialist.
  • Two (2) years previous ATC experience.
  • VFR Control Tower experience required.
  • Ability to control aircraft in accordance with FAA 7110.65.
  • Must obtain rating within time limitations stated in Army Regulation AR 95-2.
  • Relay METAR weather observations, logs data on appropriate form and transmits data as required.
  • Must be able to pass FAA Class IV Physical.
  • Ability to successfully communicate in the English language.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level, as applicable to the position requirement.
  • Ability to successfully pass any employment background check and/or drug testing required on the contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years aviation work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an aeronautical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Current security clearance at the Secret Level.
  • Previous Military experience.
  • Experience working on a federal installation.

Responsibilities

  • Relay ATC clearances to inbound, outbound and over-flying aircraft.
  • Provide airfield advisory service to arriving and departing aircraft.
  • Responsible for the effective operation of the Allan Army Airfield Control Tower.
  • Transmits Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) as required and maintains Flight Information Publications (FLIPs).
  • Performs controller duties to include safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic.
  • Controls and monitors all access and activity on the flight-line Controlled Movement Area (CMA).
  • Performs other related work as assigned.
  • Following common safety practices and use of proper protective equipment used in aviation.
  • Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Adherence to established CGS, LLC safety policies and good industrial and office safety practices.
  • Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies and procedures.
