About The Position

The Toxics Control Section, within CARB's Transportation and Toxics Division, is looking for a person who is creative, highly motivated, team-oriented, and self-starting to help us with our efforts to reduce air pollution in communities impacted by industrial facilities and other sources of toxic emissions. The individual will join a team of scientists and engineers working on implementing and developing airborne toxic control measures (ATCM) and other air toxics and community-related programs and projects. Responsibilities include technology reviews for the chrome plating and anodizing industry, performing emissions and engineering calculations, conducting cost analyses, developing surveys, interpreting results, utilizing source testing data, and performing health risk assessments. The position provides opportunities to work with various CARB team members, affected communities, air districts, the department of defense, and industry on exposure reduction strategies. The successful candidate will need to communicate effectively with a technical audience and translate highly technical material for various stakeholders.
