About The Position

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader with a reputation for excellence in providing environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services to clients in diverse market sectors, seeks an Air Quality Senior Project Manager to contribute to our continuing business development efforts with new and existing clients, execute technical project work, and train and mentor junior professionals. This Air Quality Senior Project Manager will report to our National Director of Air Quality Services, contribute to growing our air quality services, and help shape our future air quality business strategies. You will have companywide visibility and opportunities for professional growth and development in this position while interfacing with GES senior leaders, project staff, and clients. We are seeking a strong technical candidate with outstanding interpersonal skills and a passion for air quality consulting. This position is intended to be a hybrid GES office/home office based in one of our locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, or New York. Travel for company, client, and regulatory meetings is required as needed. While the initial focus geographies are the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast areas, the position will have national scope.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, environmental science or a related discipline
  • Approximately 10 years of related experience is preferred
  • Prior consulting experience is preferred
  • Professional engineer and/or other professional certification is desired
  • Excellent technical writing, verbal and written communication, decision-making, and time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Participate in business development opportunities by growing existing clients and identifying new clients’ needs for air quality services
  • Assist clients with developing strategies for permitting and compliance to meet their business objectives within an ever-changing regulatory landscape
  • Apply industry and regulatory knowledge as a technical lead on air quality projects and services such as new source review (NSR), prevention of significant deterioration (PSD) requirements, greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), toxic release inventories (TRI), Title V permit renewals and reporting, clean air act (CAA) compliance audits, National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) Regulatory Compliance, and state- and regional-level permitting and compliance
  • Train and mentor junior staff to prepare permits, emissions inventories, compliance plans, and other project tasks
  • Routinely represent GES in client meetings and presentations and by attending and presenting at conferences and industry professional organizations
  • Prepare and review proposals, project descriptions, and marketing collateral
  • Monitor regulatory developments and advise GES and clients on potential impacts
