About The Position

The Air Planning Section Chief (Environmental Group Manager) is a senior-level position within the Department of Environmental Protection, responsible for leading initiatives to minimize air pollution from stationary and area sources. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Five years of professional environmental protection experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical staff within the stationary source section.
  • Coordinate projects involving collaboration with other sections and divisions.
  • Assist in creating inventories for stationary and area sources.
  • Work with technical staff and consultants to meet EPA reporting requirements and State Implementation Plan obligations.
  • Ensure effective data reporting and quality assurance in partnership with the Division of Air Information.
  • Monitor federal developments affecting Pennsylvania's air quality programs and provide strategic recommendations to management.
  • Act as the primary resource for management, advisory committees, and external organizations regarding air quality matters.
  • Engage with federal counterparts at the EPA on issues related to stationary and area sources.
