Requirements

  • Leadership & Team Management: Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams with a focus on decision-making, effective communication, and working under pressure.
  • Air Logistics Expertise: Specialist in air operations management, with the ability to organize and plan complex logistical flows.
  • Analytical & Negotiation Skills: Results-oriented profile with advanced skills in negotiation and data analysis (proficiency in Excel).
  • International Trade Vision: Knowledge of foreign trade and global transportation processes (desirable).
  • Global Profile & Communication: Advanced conversational English level, facilitating interaction in international environments.
  • Availability & Location: Based in Miami with full willingness to travel according to operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Governance & Operational Strategy: Leading the planning and standards of air cargo services in the USA, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and customer experience.
  • End-to-End Operational Management: Overseeing the complete logistics chain—from consolidation and Dangerous Goods (DG) handling to dispatch and transport—guaranteeing efficient and timely shipments to Latin America.
  • Capacity & Network Planning: Managing air connectivity based on forecasts, ensuring fulfillment of Block Space Agreements (BSA), cargo integrity, and logistical readiness for peak seasons.
  • Performance & Cost Control: Monitoring performance metrics (SLAs) and managing the operating budget, implementing strategies to reduce Cost Per Shipment (CPS) and optimize financial resources.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Relations: Acting as the main escalation point and ambassador for Meli Air, managing tenders, strategic alliances with freight forwarders, and executive communication of results.
  • Continuous Improvement & Compliance: Leading systemic and operational optimization projects, ensuring strict compliance with international air safety regulations (IATA, FAA, TSA).
