The Employee who holds this position is responsible for the implementation, pricing, support, monitoring and growth within their sphere of responsibility and coordination of all aspects of shipments / handling, including but not limited to the following key interfaces and job requirements. In conjunction with QSHE he/she is to ensure that compliance to the current KN GXP standards are maintained.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of all required QSHE and Business Unit related training.
  • In depth knowledge of operational procedures.
  • Ability to write and implement client-level SOPs.
  • Ability to be profit conscious.
  • Ability to work with demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Solid knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries, major cities.
  • Ability to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks, must be organized.
  • Must be detail oriented, thorough, and accurate.
  • Strong PC skills.
  • Proven analytical and efficient problem-solving skills, elevating potential situations to the next level of supervision when required.
  • Work effectively via phone, e-mail and other communication channels.
  • Good planning and organization skills; ability to multitask and be a self-starter.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises aspects of the Air Logistics Customer Care Specialist and other team members, both in Customer Care, Operational Care and Shared Service Center.
  • Handle escalations and backup as necessary.
  • Responsible for the implementation, support & monitoring of clients and shipments within their sphere of responsibility.
  • Coordination of all aspects of the export and import of shipments for different verticals (aerospace semicon, hightech, automotive, healthcare).
  • Scheduling of shipments daily.
  • Responsible for rating shipments/handling/storage correctly per the SOP and RFQ.
  • Ensure compliance of team / station(s) is maintained (GxP, TSA, export compliance).
  • Mandatory daily correspondence with overseas offices and customers as necessary.
  • Ensure the necessary handling procedures (both physical and written) are followed accordingly, documented in client-level Quality Agreements, Service Level Agreements, and SOPs.
  • Understand and adhere to local, State, and Federal regulations inclusive, but not limited, to OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other government agencies.
  • Keep up to date with KN global and country specific standards and requirements.
  • Implement/maintain safety, security, quality, housekeeping and sanitation programs, as applicable.
  • Work closely with other departments to deliver high level of service to all customers.
  • Perform other detailed (job specific) duties as assigned.
  • Crosstrain within Airfreight department and assist other team members.
