About The Position

Position: Import Supervisor Compensation: $75,000 - 85,000 Annually Core Responsibilities & Duties: Supervise a team of import agents to ensure timely customs clearance and transport of shipments Delegate work, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing situations to assign work procedures Solve problems that may arise with customer shipments Support billing functions as needed Maintain up-to-date customer profiles and rate structures, supports sales team with customer information and rates Support the negotiation of rates and contracts with shipping companies and suppliers to optimize costs Provide guidance and support to team members on customs procedures, documentation requirements, and trade compliance Develop and implement standard operating procedures to increase operational efficiency and reduce errors Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience as Import supervisor
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Leadership skills and ability to successfully delegate tasks across team spectrum
  • Willing to go the extra mile for the customer, company, and team
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Excellent track record in the freight forwarding industry
