About The Position
As an Airfreight Specialist at DHL Global Forwarding, you will play a crucial role in managing the movement of our customers' air shipments. This position requires you to be the primary point of contact for airfreight shipments, overseeing the entire process from the initial customer contact to the final delivery. You will be responsible for coordinating timely bookings with airlines on behalf of customers, ensuring that all export documentation is prepared accurately and in compliance with country requirements. This includes the preparation of essential documents such as the Certificate of Origin, Cargo Manifest, NAFTA Certificate, AWB, ITAR, and Hazardous Material documentation, among others. Additionally, you will be tasked with compliant filing of the Automated Export System (AES) with US customs, ensuring that all export documents are completed on time and that communication remains open with customers, warehouses, airlines, and dispatch teams. Your role will also involve tracking shipment movements and following up with airlines to obtain departure information and updates. You will be responsible for managing the accounting aspects of shipments, including auditing charges for accuracy before sending them to accounting for payment. Confirming payment responsibilities and auditing credit statuses will also be part of your duties. Meeting all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) assigned for operations and customer service is essential, as is adhering to best practices set by corporate. You will work collaboratively with your team to address department issues, receive training and support, and strive to meet or exceed expectations in cargo movement and pricing.
